The irony in my life

The grass is always greener on the other side, and we keep hopping to the neighbouring lawn to ensure we don’t starve ourselves of anything.

10th Bengaluru International Film Festival – My 5th time!!

This year’s edition is bigger than ever with 200+ films being screened 400+ times. While regular competition sections are there, this time around, the highlight theme is Human Rights and Social Justice.

Reminiscing ChitraSanthe

So, they shut this road down and host artistes from length and breadth of the country, big time, small time, on the street.

The winter in our lives

The seasons in the past few years haven’t been easy. They’ve been confusing, warm in cold season, cold in warm seasons, drought sometimes, sometimes excessive rain. This year, however, has been pretty much normal except for a little too much of rain. Hearts are in the cold storage, because there’s a certain fear. Confused, warm in cold, cold in warm, drought, excess. But eh, they’ll eventually reach equilibrium, it’s in their nature to do so.

Cinema Originals – Monthly Roundup #10

I’m getting close to quarter of a century, that’s good news. Although I wanted to own 1000 titles by the end of 2017, it seems like a far fetched dream given the input costs. I’ve spent close to INR 35k on these titles, and I’m running out of money because of other lifestyle costs.

Deep Thoughts at 6 AM

Why don’t I do what I’m supposed to?

I’ve even walked out of the examination hall, not finishing the paper, not bothering about marks lost. If I knew I’d pass, it was enough. I used to happily walk out of the hall to have breakfast or a smoke, may be.

Unfinished business

“Too many minds. No mind” says Nobutada in the movie The Last Samurai

Am I 28 or 82?

When I look at that pile of letters, the DVD collection, the stamps and coins I collected, the stack of audio casettes my parents collected, those old meaningful songs – Hindi, Kannada, ABBA, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple .. -, I certainly feel nostalgic.

Know what your menial life’s worth!?

When we, as people and as humans, don’t respect our own lives, the politicians who bathe in money and power day and night are, in fact, being generous in pegging the value of your life to that of a car.

WordPress Community – A social network unlike any other

WordPress has been a great platform for me. Although it’s a blogging platform first, the fabulous WordPress Community acts as a social network. It’s a good parallel to the social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
