The grass is always greener on the other side, and we keep hopping to the neighbouring lawn to ensure we don’t starve ourselves of anything.
This year’s edition is bigger than ever with 200+ films being screened 400+ times. While regular competition sections are there, this time around, the highlight theme is Human Rights and Social Justice.
The winter’s gone, the spring’s passed very quick and it’s all summer. And it looks like gonna last real long.
So, they shut this road down and host artistes from length and breadth of the country, big time, small time, on the street.
The seasons in the past few years haven’t been easy. They’ve been confusing, warm in cold season, cold in warm seasons, drought sometimes, sometimes excessive rain. This year, however, has been pretty much normal except for a little too much of rain. Hearts are in the cold storage, because there’s a certain fear. Confused, warm in cold, cold in warm, drought, excess. But eh, they’ll eventually reach equilibrium, it’s in their nature to do so.
1 Year, 258 movies. I’m happy where I’m headed.
It’s good to party, it’s our right. Yes we, the citizens, have a right to be able to visit the downtown at midnight on New Year’s Eve. But, we, the citizens, should also dutifully not add to the chaos there.
I’m getting close to quarter of a century, that’s good news. Although I wanted to own 1000 titles by the end of 2017, it seems like a far fetched dream given the input costs. I’ve spent close to INR 35k on these titles, and I’m running out of money because of other lifestyle costs.

I’m splurging my money on other things and I’ve to save some for the future too. I couldn’t spend a lot on movies in October because of that.
“Too many minds. No mind” says Nobutada in the movie The Last Samurai

When I look at that pile of letters, the DVD collection, the stamps and coins I collected, the stack of audio casettes my parents collected, those old meaningful songs – Hindi, Kannada, ABBA, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple .. -, I certainly feel nostalgic.
When we, as people and as humans, don’t respect our own lives, the politicians who bathe in money and power day and night are, in fact, being generous in pegging the value of your life to that of a car.
The corporate world is ruthless in the way it functions. You ought to run with them if you want to succeed in your career. But, at what cost?
WordPress has been a great platform for me. Although it’s a blogging platform first, the fabulous WordPress Community acts as a social network. It’s a good parallel to the social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
The role of the society in people’s personal lives is too intrusive, personal spaces are not respected and them young ‘uns are just expected to fall in line per the elders’ wishes.
