Ugh! My last post was on July 23rd. I had posted on the topic “Dormant” as part of a “Daily Post” challenge that encourages bloggers to blog on a new topic everyday. That was my first post as part of Daily Post challenge, hope isn’t the last. My post on dormancy dealt with my dormant days of the years between 2011 and 2017. That post mentioned fibromyalgia, a common-but-weird disease that people have to live with. I discovered in 2013 that I suffer from it. So when I was blogging on dormancy, I felt it’d be a nice thing to blog about fibromyalgia and share a few tips and knowledge on it, given that the disease itself is not considered to be a disease by some doctors. I wrote an introductory first post on the topic, wrote successive drafts, but couldn’t continue as my own symptoms increased over the last 10 days – body pain, sleeplessness etc.
That’s not the only reason, though. I am also working on a short story. I don’t know if I should make it part of an anthology or if I should publish it in the form of episodes of a series on this blog. Lot of time to think about that given that I’m still developing it.
I’ve also been in touch with a fellow blogger, a mid-40s American blogger living in Canada. We’ve been exchanging some notes on each others’ lives, interests and thoughts on (hold your breath) email. Yeah, email. It actually feels good to be writing emails all over again. Also makes me wish if I can go back to handwritten letters. This blogger has turned into a pen-friend now. Remember pen- friends? The modern age of digital communication has, according to me, made us switch to more and more inhuman forms of socializing and communication. Will write on that someday!
So this blogger is in touch with me to learn Hindi from me over mail. I’m finding it exciting. I had to dedicate a few hours of blogging to write down Hindi lessons in email.
Beyond fibromyalgia symptoms, short-stories and email writing, another thing did keep me busy and ate into my blogging hours in the last 10 days. A movie called Lamhe. I’ve been so hooked to it that I have watched it 3 times in 5 days. Never thought that a Yash Chopra movie can have that effect on me. Another topic to blog about.
Will see you around!
